a-b-See™
The award-winning a-b-See™ program is an awareness program for parents, teachers and children about the importance of regular eye exams and lifelong good eye health practices. One in five children has a vision disorder which, if left unchecked, can affect academic and social development and result in serious long-term effects.
BCAO created the campaign to help identify these children early and raise awareness among parents, teachers and the children themselves. Since 2003, with the support of Essilor Canada, the campaign has reached more than 250,000 children across B.C., as well as their parents and their teachers, using in-class activity kits and teacher information kits, brochures for parents, interactive online kids’ games and television ads. BC Doctors of Optometry reaches adults of all ages with the message that healthy eyes are doctor delivered. BC Doctors of Optometry are your one-stop, go-to source in all things eye-related.

Teaming up with Nikon Canada, we have also created television ads that feature the stories of real patients whose eye tests uncovered serious and even life-threatening health conditions. Occupational Vision Plan
The Occupational Vision Plan (OVP) is a province-wide network of approximately 270 optometrists providing eye care and prescription safety eyewear to B.C. workplaces. In industries as diverse as forestry and technology, OVP offers comprehensive eye examinations, professional consultation and individually tailored programs to help employees work safely and effectively.
OVP is available in 85 communities and has benefited more than 300 companies over the past 25 years, providing professional assessments of employees’ vision and eye health.
